Deepak Bansal has professional experience of almost 15 years in the field of accounting, finance and auditing. Deepak Bansal had qualified Chartered Accountancy in May’90 and since then has been associated with SMA in carrying out a number of professional assignments. During this period, he was also associated with another well-known Delhi based professional C.A. firm J.P. Kapur and Uberai.

 He completed his three years article-ship period at Price Waterhouse (now known as Price Waterhouse Coopers), New Delhi in 1989. During this initial period, he worked in a number of prestigious audit assignments getting sound initial training.

Cumulative professional exposure in Audit related area:

Ø      handled a number of financial audit and financial review assignments on behalf of funding agencies of various projects supported by well known grass root implementing agencies, heading the audit team in the field. Some of these are as follows:

·        EPTRI , Oxfam India and Toxics Links (pioneer in the field of Environmental eng., crisis management & relief and promotion of awareness in the field of industrial effluents and wastes resp.) financially supported by SIDA, New Delhi (August -December 2003)

·        FRLHT (a prominent institution in the traditional medicines working in South India) on behalf of DANIDA, New Delhi (August 2002)

·        SWRC, Ajmer on behalf of Plan International, New Delhi (September 2001)

·        SEWA , a world renowned womens’ organisation working in the Western India region,(1999)

Ø      dealt with a number of other private funding agencies more prominently being, Aga Khan Foundation, Plan International, etc. for carrying out financial area’s related assignments like audit, financial management studies, among others.

 AREAS COVERED UNDER FINANCIAL AUDITS

Ø      Adequacy of internal controls established in the financial systems of the auditee organisation. Some of the areas covered are :

·        Cash payments procedures,

·        Maintenance of project assets,

·        Approval and authorisation levels in the organisation

·        Proper accounting of  project expenditures,

Project Appraisal Missions

Recently participated in the review mission undertaking the financial review of the activities carried out during the phasing out period and also recommending the release of funds for the remaining period, (FRLHT)

 

Study to evaluate the existing financial systems

Undertaking an in-depth study to assess the SWOT in case of a private implementing agency and also recommending the alternative mechanisms,(in case of SWRC, Ajmer, funded by Plan International),

 

Noteworthy to mention is the on-field assistance from Ahmedabad rendered while carrying out the financial review of the programmes implemented by SEWA and funded by RNE in the year 1997.

 

Assessment of Financial Management Capacities

Rendered on the field assistance for carrying out the assessment of financial management capacities of various implementing partners of AKF in the MERC project and recommend ways to enhance these capacities on a sustainable basis ( July 2000)

 

FCRA matters

We have handled and obtained prior permissions, FCRA registrations for a number of NGOs. We also deal with various FCRA related issues for these NGOs.
